Come on out to Morgantown Brewing Company and join us November 6th at 11 AM for the American Homebrewers Association's 12th Annual Learn To Homebrew Day!
Learn to Homebrew Day (formerly known as Teach a Friend to Homebrew Day) was established by the American Homebrewers Association (AHA) in 1999 to enable people interested in beer and homebrewing to learn how to brew. Learn to Homebrew Day occurs annually on the first Saturday in November, when homebrewers around the world are encouraged to learn how to brew or teach someone how to brew.
Morgantown Brewing Company is happy to invite anyone who is interested in learning how to homebrew to stop by the site starting at 11 AM on Saturday, November 6th to learn about the ART of Homebrewing from local Professional Brewers and members of the West Virginia Homebrewers Guild. Several
batches will be brewed using both the extract (beginner level) and all grain (advanced) methods using various brewing systems. Come on out and observe first hand what goes into making your favorite beverages. Knowledgable brewers will be on hand to ansewer any questions and explane the process step-by-step.
In 2009, over 2,000 participants brewed approximately 2,900 gallons on Learn to Homebrew Day at 128 sites worldwide, including sites in Belgium, Canada, Luxembourg, and 34 states and Washington, D.C. in the United States. This year, the AHA expects even greater participation.
"One of the great things about homebrewers is they are happy to share their knowledge and to pass on the joy that they find in homebrewing to others,” states Gary Glass, director of the AHA, “that's really what Learn To Homebrew Day is all about."
Homebrewing is a hobby that is increasing in popularity and something that almost anyone 21 years and older can enjoy. Homebrewing is a rewarding but easy hobby — anyone who has a kitchen can do it. The equipment and ingredients needed are less expensive than most people think.
