The West Virginia Craft Beer Appreciation Society (WVCBAS) is an organization made up of Craft Beer lovers, brewers, retailers, and distributors in West Virginia dedicated to educating the public about the wide range of craft beers available throughout The United States and the world. We want to show the masses that there is a whole world of barley and hops out there to explore, most of which are not yet available in WV.

Because of previous laws, many of the world’s greatest beers were unavailable in the Mountain State. Fortunately those laws were changed in July 2009 and now the doors are open for a whole world of high quality beer to become available to us. We hope that by joining together to inform the citizens of WV about what we are missing out on, we may be able to help create a market that will encourage breweries around the country to bring their products to WV.

We also hope to promote responsible enjoyment of our favorite beverages. Like our motto says, beer is more than just an alcohol delivery system. High quality Craft Beer is a beverage that arguably goes better with your favorite foods than wine. With the broad range of beer available in the US, you are sure to find one that is a fantastic match for your favorite meal.

 

Simply put our mission is as follows:

• 1.       To promote the responsible enjoyment of our favorite beverages.
• 2.       To educate the public about the wide range of craft beers available in The United States and throughout the world.
• 3.       To help create a viable WV market for craft beer that will encourage breweries around the country to bring their products to WV.
